Who Were the Nephilim? Part 3
The fallen angel view was common in the centuries surrounding Christ’s earthly ministry. Many Jews and even early Christians held that view. But if this view doesn’t come from the Scriptures, where did it originate? Why did it become popular in the early church, then nearly completely rejected for the majority of church history, only to be revived again very recently? It is probably not possible to answer these questions definitively since we cannot travel back in time and interview the earliest advocates. But historical documents do shed light on this issue.
